What Do You Want Federal Lawmakers to Know?
And a new poll
In a little over a week, our group of dedicated police supporters will be headed to D.C. to meet with key federal lawmakers, urging them to advance key legislative bills.
These bills, especially the Qualified Immunity Act of 2025 and the Police Officer Self-Defense Protection Act, could very well resuscitate policing. It’s tough to hire and retain dedicated cops with the right temperament, after all, if they’re worried about being personally sued or charged criminally for acting in compliance with the Constitution and their training.
Qualified immunity (not to be confused with blanket immunity) has been recognized and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court since 1967. We want to see these protections codified into law, which would render attempts to limit or eradicate them, obsolete.
