We can only hope that we are on the verge of a great awakening that unites us, and more importantly, grants people a knowledge of the gift of grace from God. Seeing the divide become more binary, we are seeing events mirroring prophecy. Who knew the squad would put all their chips on the destruction of Israel or that college students (who know few essential facts) would consider themselves intellectually worthy to determine a proportional response of a nation attacked by terrorists.
So much truth in what you said. I believe that the decline of faith in this nation has contributed to much of what we're now seeing. And yes, though uncanny, these events do mirror prophecy.
It's sometimes difficult to believe we've reached the point we have. Not in my wildest dreams would I have predicted that a generation of Americans would be in denial of the Holocaust or that members of our own legislatures would seemingly have that much contempt for our nation's values.
The new elite and "intelligentsia" seem to lack humility, self-awareness, and an inclination to think independently of the group. Yet they see themselves as intellectually superior to the rest of us; unware that without these characteristics, true intellectualism can't exist.
Knowing that there are good people (like yourself) who see the problem and are willing to speak out gives me hope.
