A shout out to those of you who’ve already requested a copy of my new free e-book, Defending the Defenders. This shows me that there are people who really do care about our guardians. And that warms my heart.
Subscribers have emailed me privately, asking how to get the book without having to make referrals or comment publicly. You want -and deserve- your privacy. I understand.
Because I want as many people to read the book as possible, I’m offering another way for you to receive it. Simply email me at fortheblue@substack.com to request a copy and I will send you the link and password ASAP.
Since I haven’t found a way to automate this process on Substack, there may be a delay in receiving the book. Please know, however, that I do read all my emails, and will eventually reply.
It’s a short read, just 34 pages. It is however, filled with vetted ideas for supporting the men and women of law enforcement, regardless of your current time commitment.
My dear friend, Mike Koval, retired chief of police of the Madison Police Department (WI), generously wrote the forward. Here are some excerpts:
“Regrettably, because of a “perfect storm” of national narratives fueled by 24/7 negative news coverage, political posturing, riots, the isolationism of a pandemic, etc., the role of police in a free society has suffered immensely and now the police find themselves “playing from behind” and are desperate to re-establish bonds of trust with the constituents that they have pledged to serve and protect. . . .
“In the time I have known Paula, I would describe her as a person who has worn many hats—-researcher, author, blogger, speaker, promoter, and activist—committed to the proposition of advocating for police and the broader principles of public safety. To this end, she has synthesized a resource manual that describes the variety of ways that people can get involved or be heard in a myriad of ways.”
Please consider reading the book, then applying some of the ideas - because we need all hands on deck. Honestly, police advocacy isn’t the most popular of causes; and in my experience, it doesn’t attract the same level of enthusiasm as we’ve seen with the recent parents’ movements. I get it. Protecting one’s kids is visceral.
That said, what’s happening right now with law enforcement impacts all of us in very profound ways.
Citizen Interest Poll
I’d like to host events that empower citizens to become advocates for law enforcement. To gauge interest, can you please take a few seconds to reply to this poll? One question pertains to a virtual event, and the other to an in-person event.
As always, you can always reply to me privately at fortheblue@substack.com.
Another Piece of the Dystopian Puzzle
Almost all of the chaos occurring in our nation right now (including the war on police) is in some way connected. The events and policies that have most of us wondering how we ended up in this alternate universe, aren’t occurring in a vacuum.
Take Environment, Social, and Governance, also known as ESG, for example. ESG is being promoted as a way to improve society and the environment. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?
What it really is, essentially, is a power and money grab by big investment firms (in chorus with government allies and select activists) to force control and impose their ideology. A relatively few privileged elites are essentially using our investment dollars to accomplish it.
Don’t conflate ESG with socially responsible investing, which is voluntary and aligns with the foundations of American liberty. When individuals determine where their money should be invested and understand the risks of doing so, that’s one thing. And patronizing companies that align with one’s values is noble. I won’t, for example, purchase cosmetics tested on animals or clothes made in regions known for human rights abuses.
ESG is not the same thing. Its aim is to concentrate power - and that, dear reader, will essentially move us closer to socialism.
This past week I attended a seminar hosted by my women’s organization and learned how ESG is tied to the defund the police movement. Of course, ESG isn’t the only cause of the war on police, but it certainly is a contributing factor.
I’m trying to learn all I can about ESG, especially as it applies to policing. Which is why the new book You Will Own Nothing by Carol Roth caught my eye today at the bookstore. It’s been endorsed by financial journalist Charles Payne, as well as journalist & author Michael Shellenberger, both whom I hold in regard. I can’t wait to devour it.
As always, I’d love to know your thoughts on what I’ve written.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my stuff. Please keep safe out there. : )
For the Blue is a solutions-based initiative. I’m just an American patriot asking questions. I don’t work with any political party and I answer to nobody. For me, the health of the nation, due process (including for police officers), the rule of law, and respect for individual liberties, will always transcend party affiliation. I welcome your thoughts, even if you disagree; though personal attacks will be ignored. You can reach me at fortheblue@substack.com.
